A Launch without the Steam Plant
The quality of the planking can be seen in this photograph. All the 1/2 inch wide planks are individually fitted in place, and the whole process takes quite a while to get them to look like this!
This hull also has a gearbox fitted which is not part of the standard "empty" launch.
The pipes visible in the photograph take water from the water tank in the bow area to feed the boiler via a feed pump, either manual or the "Weir" type which are powered by steam.
