Displacement Lubricators

Automatic Steam Engine Oilers

Steam Cylinder lubricators

We currently sell excellent "in line" displacement lubricators made from polished brass. These traditional units simply use condensed steam on its way to the engine. As the steam condenses in the lubricator, the water sinks to the bottom of the container which in turn forces the steam oil into the live steam feed pipe to the engine's cylinders. They are suitable for most steam engines up to at least 1 inch bore cylinders.

THERE ARE NOW TWO SIZES AVAILABLE:

The Large Displacement Lubricator is 2 1/2" tall & 5/8"diameter (approx 63.5mm x 16mm)

The Small Displacement Lubricator is 2 1/8" tall & 5/8" diameter (approx 54mm x 16mm).

They are suitable for most of the popular model steam engines including the Stuart Turner range of model steam engines up to approximately 1.5 inches cylinder bore diameter.

All our lubricators are fitted with a water drain tap - no need for dangerous syringes laying about!

It is easy enough to arrange hanging a small bucket (not supplied) underneath the lubricator by using a length of brass wire or similar.

The lubricators can either be fitted to the engine, or anywhere in the steam feed to the engine. The oil feed is adjustable for optimum supply of steam oil to the cylinder(s).
