We currently sell an excellent "in line" displacement lubricator made from polished brass. They are made by a very known & respected professional steam fittings manufacturer, to a very high standard. These traditional units simply use condensed steam on its way to the engine. As the steam condenses in the lubricator, the water sinks to the bottom of the container which in turn forces the steam oil into the live steam feed pipe to the engine's cylinders. They are suitable for most steam engines up to at least 1 inch bore cylinders.
The lubricators are made of brass, they are 5/8" (16mm) in diameter by 2 1/4" (57mm) long, including the screw cap which is fitted with an "O" ring seal. These displacement lubricators, unlike some other types, hold a good quantity of steam oil, so need refilling at less frequent intervals. They are suitable for all the Stuart Turner range of model steam engines. A feature of these lubricators is that the oil feed is pre set to optimum, so there is no danger of accidentally knocking the oil feed tap & shutting off the oil supply to the engine's cylinders, as can easily be done with some other displacement lubricator designs.
All our lubricators are fitted with a water drain tap - no need for dangerous syringes laying about!
The lubricators can either be fitted to the engine, or anywhere in the steam feed to the engine. The oil feed is pre set to provide a steady supply of steam oil to the cylinder(s) We can also supply universal "T" piece adaptors & 12th scale galvanised metal buckets to catch the condensate when the drain tap is opened.
